Liberal Studies Global Media Lab

The Global Media Lab is a new initiative, offering opportunities for students across Liberal Studies to work with classmates and mentors, connect with other media makers, share ideas, and create new digital content. A group of professors recognized the need for a dedicated effort to foster collaboration and partnerships across media creation. They realized that LS students lack access to media and technology equipment. Although cameras, editing software, and other resources are available to borrow at libraries or through other schools, they are often hard to secure, leaving LS students without the necessary tools to complete their projects. Liberal Studies recently hired a new Director to lead the GML initiative. The Director is poised to bring writers and producers, artists and directors, students and mentors together to enhance student media production and capabilities, preparing them to engage with visual and digital forms of expression for whatever careers they choose.
