This year we are highlighting the Pediatric Dentistry Capital Improvement Fund. The department has launched a capital campaign to renovate the NYU Pediatric Dentistry Suite, aiming to enhance the facility as well as the overall education and clinical patient experience. The renovation will include several key features to improve the patient and caregiver experience. The reception and waiting area will use calming colors, noise-absorbing panels, and rounded edges. A “Reach Out and Read” library with volunteer readers will engage children, while refreshments for caregivers will create a welcoming space. Private interprofessional consult rooms will house specialists like nutritionists or social workers, with mobile video translators ensuring language accessibility. The operatories will each offer multi-sensory experiences with adjustable lighting, sensory items, and space for family members. The design prioritizes comfort, accessibility, and a supportive environment for all patients to set them on a lifelong path of positive oral health experiences.
